Preliminary Study on the Occurrence Pattern of Chilo suppressalis in Jingmen City, Hubei Province
Abstract：Through daily light trapping of adult Chilo suppressalis, combined with field surveys of the development stages of Chilo suppressalis and the calculation of effective accumulated temperature, this study explored the occurrence pattern of Chilo suppressalis in Jingmen City, Hubei Province. The results showed that the occurrence area and damage degree of Chilo suppressalis in Jingmen have been increasing. In the Dadao District of Jingmen, Chilo suppressalis has four generations with overlapping generations. The peak periods of adult emergence for each generation are in early to mid-April, mid-June, mid to late July, and late August to early September. It is recommended that in areas where Chilo suppressalis occurs heavily, targeted control measures should be taken during late July to early August to ensure the safety of rice production.
