Analysis of Termite Control Technology and Effectiveness at Heshan Reservoir Dam in Xuyi County
Abstract:Termites pose a serious threat to the safety of reservoir dams. To analyze the mechanism of termite damage and evaluate the comprehensive control effect, this paper takes the termites at Heshan Reservoir Dam in Xuyi County as the research object, analyzes the causes of termite damage, and carries out comprehensive prevention and control. The analysis shows that suitable climate, construction and management loopholes in reservoirs, abundant food resources, and reduced natural enemies are the main reasons for the severe occurrence of termites in the local area. In response to termite damage, measures such as termite hazard census, manual excavation of nests, setting up toxic sand pile isolation layers, and drug baiting have been implemented, effectively controlling the reproduction of termites, with an elimination rate of more than 90%. The research results provide scientific basis and practical guidance for termite prevention and control in water conservancy projects.
