Integrated Pest Management Technology for Major Pests in the Middle to Late Stages of Corn Growth in Jilin Province, Focusing on Aphids
Abstract:To screen for effective and synergistic pesticide combinations for controlling pests during the middle to late stages of corn growth, this study evaluated the effects of commonly used chemical and biological pesticides on major pests (aphids, corn borer, and two-spotted spider mite) and ear rot disease in three regions of Jilin Province from 2022 to 2023. The results showed that pesticides with good control effects on corn aphids included imidacloprid, matrine, and pyrethrum, with control efficacy exceeding 90%. For corn borer, the effective pesticides were chlorantraniliprole, matrine, and beta-cyfluthrin, with control efficacy reaching over 88%. For the two-spotted spider mite, matrine and beta-cyfluthrin showed better control effects. Matrine exhibited broad-spectrum and high efficiency against all three pests and could serve as a core pesticide. When mixed with chlorantraniliprole or beta-cyfluthrin, it achieved synergistic enhancement. While reducing pest damage, it also reduced the occurrence of ear rot disease. The findings provide support for the scientific control of corn pests in Jilin Province.
