The Effect of Different Sowing Methods on the Growth and Development of Wheat and Economic Benefits
Abstract:In order to provide theoretical and technical basis for high-yield and efficient cultivation of wheat in the hilly areas of northern Hubei, this study used the wheat variety Jinle No. 1 as the experimental material. Four different mechanical sowing methods were set up: narrow-row uniform row sowing (T1, row spacing 20 cm), wide-row uniform row sowing (T2, row spacing 22 cm), narrow-row wide-narrow row furrow sowing (T3, row spacing 12×24 cm), and wide-row uniform row sowing (CK, row spacing 25 cm). The differences in the growth and development of wheat and economic benefits under different sowing methods were compared. The results showed that narrow-row wide-narrow row furrow sowing and narrow-row uniform row sowing maintained a higher green leaf area during the grain-filling period, had higher chlorophyll content in the flag leaves during the flowering and grain-filling periods, and had strong photosynthetic capacity. These methods significantly promoted the accumulation of dry matter in the population, significantly increased the basic seedling number, population tiller number, effective panicle number, and thousand-grain weight, thereby increasing the yield of wheat grains and improving economic benefits. Considering comprehensively the seedling quality at various growth stages, yield, and economic benefits, the narrow-row wide-narrow row furrow sowing (row spacing 12×24 cm) is an appropriate sowing method for wheat in the hilly areas of northern Hubei, and is worth promoting and applying.
