Field Efficacy of Five Insecticides for Controlling Fall Armyworm in Corn
Abstract:Fall armyworm seriously damages corn production in Henan Province. To screen more suitable insecticides for controlling fall armyworm in corn in this region, field efficacy tests were conducted using five insecticides: 200 g/L chlorantraniliprole suspension, 5% emamectin benzoate soluble granules, 5% flubendiamide water emulsion, 40% chlorfluazuron suspension, and 300 billion spores/g Beauveria bassiana wettable powder. The results showed that the 5% emamectin benzoate soluble granules had the highest efficacy, with control rates of 81.05% and 93.88% after 3 and 7 days, respectively. The bio-insecticide 300 billion spores/g Beauveria bassiana wettable powder showed a control rate of 86.37% after 7 days, with a good residual effect. It is recommended to alternate the use of 5% emamectin benzoate soluble granules and 300 billion spores/g Beauveria bassiana wettable powder in production to achieve high efficacy and protect the ecological environment.
