Field Control Effect of Four Pesticides on Cotton Aphid
Abstract:In order to screen out safe and efficient pesticides suitable for the local area for controlling cotton aphids, this study compared the safety of cotton and the field control effect of four types of pesticides: 20% sulfoxaflor suspension, 50% flonicamid water-dispersible granules, 22% flupyrimin suspension, and 8% fipronil suspension. The results showed that all tested pesticides were safe for Ganga 11. All four test pesticides had good efficacy against aphids. Among them, 22% flupyrimin suspension and 20% sulfoxaflor suspension showed better quick-acting and persistent effects. The corrected efficacy after 1 day was 98.44% and 89.85%, respectively, which was significantly better than other pesticides. After 14 days, the corrected efficacy was 99.85% and 99.96%, respectively. It is recommended to use 22% flupyrimin suspension and 20% sulfoxaflor suspension for emergency control of cotton aphids in the local area, and the pesticides should be rotated to reduce the risk of resistance development in cotton aphids.
