The Effect of Rice-Duck Co-cultivation on the Control of Pests, Diseases, and Weeds in Rice Fields
Abstract:This paper studies the effect of rice-duck co-cultivation on the control of pests, diseases, and weeds in rice fields and its impact on yield. The results show that compared with the treatment without raising ducks and without pesticide application, the other three treatments showed improved control effects on pests, diseases, and weeds as well as higher rice yields. Among them, the treatment of raising ducks with pesticide application had the best control effect on pests, diseases, and weeds (70.03% to 96.21%), with the highest rice yield (612.00 kg/667m2). The treatment of raising ducks without pesticide application was next (control effect 51.68% to 94.32%, yield 587.33 kg/667m2), followed by the treatment without raising ducks but with pesticide application. Raising ducks without pesticide application showed good control effects on pests, diseases, and weeds, with a high rice yield, and it is more beneficial to the ecological environment. Therefore, it is worth promoting in rice production.
