Characteristics of Hail Weather in Shicheng County and Its Impact on Crops, as well as Artificial Hail Prevention Strategies
Abstract:Taking Shicheng County, Jiangxi Province as the research area, this study focuses on the characteristics of hail weather and its impact on crops, aiming to clarify the patterns of hail disasters and propose artificial hail prevention strategies. Through methods such as meteorological observation data analysis and historical disaster investigations, the results show that hail weather in Shicheng County has obvious seasonal characteristics, with most occurrences concentrated in spring (March to May). It is characterized by suddenness, a small impact range, but concentrated damage. Hail often causes mechanical damage to crops, leading to reduced yields or even total crop failure, posing a serious threat to food security and agricultural economy. In response to hail disasters, this study proposes measures such as strengthening monitoring and early warning system construction, scientifically conducting artificial hail prevention operations, enhancing agricultural protective measures, and strengthening science popularization publicity and training to improve hail prevention capabilities, ensuring crop yield and quality, and providing references for local hail disaster reduction.
