Comprehensive Evaluation of Vegetation Diversity and Soil Characteristics in the Desert-Oasis Transition Zone of Hotan Region
Abstract:To investigate the coupling relationship between vegetation diversity and soil physicochemical characteristics under different types of protective forests in the desert-oasis transition zone of Hotan region, typical sample plots were set up, and community surveys and soil physicochemical index analysis methods were used to conduct a comprehensive evaluation from three aspects: vegetation composition, diversity indices, and soil properties. The results showed that the vegetation structure in the fixed sand dune - farmland protection forest belt was the most stable, with significant correlations between diversity indices and soil nutrients such as organic matter and available phosphorus, indicating the best soil improvement effect; the soil in the semi-fixed sand dune area was poor, with low community uniformity. Correlation analysis revealed significant coupling characteristics between vegetation diversity and soil factors. The study indicates that reasonable configuration of protective forest structures and enhancement of soil fertility are key to improving ecosystem stability and service functions.
