Impact of Heavy Rainfall Disasters on Early Rice in Wannian County and Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Measures
Abstract:As a major production area of early rice in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, Wannian County is often threatened by heavy rainfall disasters. Based on this, this study systematically analyzes the impact of heavy rainfall disasters on the growth and development of early rice from the perspective of Wannian County's geographical environment and climate characteristics, and proposes targeted disaster prevention and mitigation measures according to local conditions. The research shows that heavy rain affects the yield and quality of early rice through direct and indirect ways such as flooding of rice fields, overly wet soil, and exacerbated pests and diseases, leading to oxygen deficiency in rice roots, impaired photosynthesis, and reduced grain filling rate. By establishing a reasonable meteorological service system, optimizing engineering measures, and improving agricultural techniques, the disaster resistance capacity of early rice production in Wannian County can be effectively enhanced, ensuring food security.
