Research on the Challenges and Solutions for Agricultural Mechanization Development in Hilly and Mountainous Areas
Abstract:Agricultural mechanization is the inevitable path to agricultural modernization, and it is also a key support for ensuring national food security and promoting the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy. As a typical hilly agricultural province, Sichuan has complex topography and fragmented farmland, leading to a dual dilemma of '先天不足' (inherent shortcomings) and '后天乏力' (lack of subsequent strength) in the development of agricultural mechanization. Based on field research data from Sichuan Province and Zhongjiang County, a major grain-producing county, this paper deeply analyzes the current situation of agricultural mechanization in hilly and mountainous areas, and explores core constraints such as terrain limitations, poor adaptability of equipment, insufficient financial investment, and a lack of talent. Combining current domestic and international trends in hilly area agricultural machinery technology, it proposes systematic recommendations from aspects such as the construction of a research and development system, mechanization-friendly transformation, innovation of social service mechanisms, and improvement of policy support systems, aiming to provide decision-making references for Sichuan's transition from an agricultural province to an agricultural power.
