Agglomeration and the Development of New Quality Productivity in Agricultural Equipment: Mechanism and Path
Abstract:To explore the mechanism of agglomeration on the development of new quality productivity in agricultural equipment and its regional heterogeneity, this study uses provincial panel data from China from 2011 to 2021. It applies a random effects model, mediation effect testing, and heterogeneity analysis to analyze the paths such as R&D input structure, technology spillover, and factor integration. The findings show that agglomeration significantly enhances the intelligence level and overall efficiency of agricultural equipment by optimizing R&D investment and strengthening technological collaboration. However, the effect exhibits an inverted U-shape and is influenced by regional resources and policies, meaning it is significant in grain-producing areas but weaker in main sales areas and balanced production and sales areas. The study suggests that differentiated agglomeration models should be built and a coordinated mechanism of 'technology-policy-resource' should be improved to promote the development of new quality productivity in agricultural equipment according to local conditions.
