Research on Meteorological Disasters during the Growing Period of Peaches in Longquanyi District and Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Strategies
Abstract:To efficiently utilize agricultural climate resources and promote the high-quality development of the peach industry, statistical data on meteorological disasters such as heavy rain and drought in Longquanyi District, Chengdu City from 1995 to 2024 were collected and organized. The study focused on analyzing the trends of common meteorological disasters during the growing period of peaches and their impact on peaches. The results show that the frequency of heavy rain disasters decreased at a rate of -0.178 times per 10 years, while the frequency of drought disasters increased at a rate of 0.877 times per 10 years. Heavy rain mainly occurs during the ripening period of peaches, while drought occurs in all growth stages except the budding stage. Heavy rain and drought will inevitably lead to reduced sweetness, increased pests and diseases, smaller fruit size, and a significant decline in quality and yield of peaches in Longquanyi District. In response, disaster prevention and mitigation strategies are proposed from multiple dimensions, including strengthening meteorological monitoring, early warning, and information release, optimizing orchard water conservancy facilities, promoting ecological cultivation technologies, establishing professional technical service teams, and enhancing industrial cooperation and regional coordination, to reduce the impact of meteorological disasters on peaches and support the development of the peach industry in Longquanyi District.
