Finite Element Simulation Study on the Solidification Microstructure of Agricultural Al6082 Alloy Investment Casting
Abstract:To address the difficulty in controlling the internal solidification microstructure of agricultural aluminum alloy castings, this study analyzed the influencing factors of the solidification microstructure of Al6082 alloy using the CAFE method. The effects of process parameters (cooling method, pouring speed, pouring temperature) and nucleation parameters (average undercooling, maximum nucleation density) on the microstructure of the casting were investigated. The results show that the cooling method has the greatest influence on the solidification microstructure, while the pouring temperature and pouring speed have relatively limited effects, with small changes in grain number and average grain radius. The average bulk undercooling and maximum bulk nucleation density have a significant impact on the solidification microstructure, whereas the average surface undercooling and maximum surface nucleation density have a relatively limited effect on the overall grain structure. This study provides an effective theoretical basis for improving the casting quality and service life of aluminum alloy agricultural machinery equipment, as well as for controlling the microstructure of castings.
