Experimental Study on the Effects of Straw Organic Fertilizer and Shade Degree Under Photovoltaic Greenhouses on the Harvest Yield of Shade-Tolerant Vegetable Crops
Abstract:To improve the land utilization rate of photovoltaic greenhouses, an experimental study was conducted on the cultivation of shade-tolerant vegetable crops during the idle period after mushroom cultivation. Three crops, tomato, water spinach, and summer squash, were selected to systematically investigate the effects of different application rates of three organic fertilizers and varying shade degrees on crop yields, while also evaluating the effect of organic fertilizer on soil fertility improvement. The experimental results showed that tomatoes achieved the highest yield of 1842.4 kg/acre when combined with 1000 kg/acre of straw organic fertilizer; water spinach obtained the optimal yield of 1200.6 kg/acre when combined with 500 kg/acre of straw biochar organic fertilizer; and summer squash had the highest yield of 2041.0 kg/acre when using 1000 kg/acre of straw substrate fertilizer. A 50% shade degree had no significant effect on the yield of tomatoes and water spinach, but a 100% shade degree caused a decrease in the yield of all three crops. Straw organic fertilizer significantly increased the total nitrogen and available phosphorus content in the soil, while straw biochar organic fertilizer showed more significant effects in improving soil organic matter, available potassium content, and regulating pH values.
