Analysis of a Strong Precipitation Weather Process in Pengyang County and Its Impact on Agriculture
Abstract:Using NCEP reanalysis data and Guyuan C-band Doppler radar data, this study conducts a detailed analysis of the synoptic background, main influencing systems, and physical quantities such as water vapor conditions, dynamic conditions, and radar radial velocity before and after a strong precipitation event in Pengyang County from July 22 to 24, 2024. The research findings show that: (1) the formation of low-level shear lines, convergence lines, and inverted troughs leads to a configuration of low-level convergence and high-level divergence, causing heavy rain. (2) Under convective unstable conditions, the Convective Available Potential Energy (CAPE) is elongated, with consistent warm advection from the lower to upper levels, and thick moist and warm cloud layers; Pengyang County is located within a moisture tongue, with specific humidity consistently maintained around 12 g/kg. (3) Heavy precipitation causes soil saturation in farmlands, and timely drainage of field water should be carried out, along with pest and disease control measures to reduce damage to crops.
