Characteristics of Meteorological Drought in Suelun Town, Xing'an League and Its Impact on Agricultural Production
Abstract:Using monthly precipitation observation data from Suelun Meteorological Station in Xing'an League from 1981 to 2022, this study analyzed the spatiotemporal distribution characteristics of drought in Suelun Town over 42 years using methods such as precipitation anomaly percentage. The results showed that meteorological drought occurs frequently in Suelun Town, mainly as light drought; the occurrence rate of drought by season is autumn drought > spring drought > winter drought > summer drought; except for June to August, when no severe or extreme drought occurred, droughts of varying degrees (light, moderate, severe, and extreme) may occur in other months. Drought has a serious impact on agricultural production, leading to a decrease in soil fertility, aggravating pests and diseases, affecting the normal growth and development of crops, and reducing crop yield and quality. Measures should be taken to strengthen drought monitoring, actively carry out artificial rain enhancement operations, and reinforce agricultural water conservancy facilities to reduce the impact of drought.
