Domestication Experiment, Ecological Restoration Effectiveness Verification, and Development Practice Research of Wild Desert Plant Artemisia sphaerocephala
Abstract:Taking the desertification control in the Hexi region as the background, this study focuses on the domestication application and ecological economic value development of the wild desert plant Artemisia sphaerocephala. By combining field experiments, remote sensing monitoring, and digital agriculture technology, the ecological adaptability, sand fixation efficiency, and comprehensive utilization potential of Artemisia sphaerocephala were analyzed. Experimental data show that the average survival rate of Artemisia sphaerocephala in the Hexi region reached 84.7%, and after two years of planting, the soil wind erosion decreased by 62.3%. Meanwhile, its medicinal components (artemisinin content 0.8% to 1.18%) and feed protein content (14.2%) are relatively high. The research results indicate that Artemisia sphaerocephala has dual value in ecological restoration and industrial development. It is recommended to promote intelligent planting technology and extend the industrial chain through optimizing germplasm resources, thereby promoting the coordinated development of ecological economy in the Hexi Corridor.
