Study on the Impact of Climate Change on the Suitability of Lychee Cultivation in Minhou County
Abstract:Under the background of global climate warming, extreme weather disasters have begun to occur frequently, and the harm they cause has been continuously increasing, which is not conducive to the sustainable development of agricultural production. Therefore, combining the biological characteristics of lychee, this study selected three meteorological factors in Minhou County from 1991 to 2023: monthly average temperature, precipitation, and sunshine duration. The impact of climate change on the suitability of lychee cultivation was analyzed using linear regression and statistical methods. The results show that the local temperature, precipitation, and sunshine duration in Minhou County are relatively suitable for lychee growth. During the process of climate change, meteorological disasters such as spring cold damage, high-temperature heat damage, drought, and continuous rainy weather may occur, which have a significant impact on lychee cultivation. By applying high-yield cultivation techniques such as site selection and planning, land preparation and planting, water and fertilizer management, and pest and disease control, it is possible to ensure the formation of high-quality and high-yield lychees.
