Optimization and Process Experiment of Skin-On Sheep Immersion Scalding and Hair Removal Equipment
Abstract:This paper describes the current status of immersion scalding and hair removal equipment for skin-on sheep, and puts forward improvement suggestions for the existing equipment to promote continuous automated processing of skin-on sheep. Taking Xu Huai mountain sheep as the research object, the immersion scalding and hair removal equipment developed in the project was used to study the effects of immersion scalding temperature, immersion time, and hair removal time on hair removal rate, skin damage rate, and sensory evaluation score, providing data reference for industrial production of skin-on sheep. The research found that when the immersion scalding temperature is below 65°C, the wool is hard and difficult to remove. With the increase of immersion scalding temperature and time, the surface of the sheep carcass becomes sticky and the color turns red, showing a 'scalded old' trend. The sensory evaluation results showed that an immersion scalding temperature of 65-68°C and an immersion time of 150-210 seconds can fully soften the wool, making it convenient for subsequent hair removal work. The orthogonal test results showed that with an immersion scalding temperature of 68°C, an immersion time of 210 seconds, and a hair removal time of 50 seconds, the hair removal rate reached 98%, which meets the requirements of enterprise processing.
