Design and Experiment of a Lightweight and Intelligent Seed Collector for Rapeseed
Abstract:To meet the demand for lightweight and intelligent sowing of rapeseed, a mechanical roller-type seed collector was designed. The seed sowing was achieved through the methods of hole filling, brush cleaning, and gravity dropping. The main structure and working principle of the seed collector were elaborated, and the optimal range of the outer dimensions and hole structure parameters of the seed sowing roller was determined. The interaction between seeds and the seed collector during the processes of filling, cleaning, carrying, and dropping was analyzed. A speed-controlled sowing control system based on Beidou positioning was established. The numerical simulation results of the incremental discrete PID algorithm showed that the algorithm's performance met the design requirements. The single-factor EDEM simulation results showed that as the hole width increased, the seed filling effect of rapeseed gradually improved, while the double-seeding rate gradually increased. The optimal hole width was 3.6 mm. The bench test results showed that under the optimal hole width, the stability of seed distribution in each row of rapeseed was no less than 93.21%, and the damage rate was no higher than 0.41%, meeting the sowing requirements for rapeseed.
