Research on an Intelligent Monitoring System for Aquaponics Based on the Internet of Things
Abstract:To address the issues of insufficient monitoring accuracy and delayed regulation in aquaponics systems, an intelligent monitoring system based on the STM32F10 main controller was designed. This system integrates a multi-source sensor network to collect nine types of parameters in real time, including environmental temperature and humidity, illuminance, water temperature, water level, pH, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, and total dissolved solids (TDS). It also realizes local visual monitoring through a TFT liquid crystal screen. When parameters exceed preset thresholds, the system automatically triggers a voice alarm and coordinates with actuating mechanisms (such as cooling, humidifying, heating, and water circulation) for closed-loop regulation. At the same time, a cloud data management system was built based on the OneNet platform, and the MQTT protocol was used to realize remote transmission of monitoring data. A mobile app and a visual data large screen were developed to display the system's operational status in real time. Practical tests have shown that this system has significant application value in reducing labor costs, improving fish and vegetable yields, and enhancing product quality.
