Empirical Study on the Construction of Ecologically Livable Rural Areas in the Context of Rural Revitalization
Abstract:Mud-brick houses are an important form of architecture, widely distributed in rural areas of China, with unique historical and cultural significance and distinct local characteristics. However, with the development of the social economy and technological progress, mud-brick houses have gradually been replaced by modern buildings. In the context of rural revitalization, to preserve mud-brick houses and the nostalgia they represent, it is necessary to renovate them so that they retain their unique local characteristics while also meeting the requirements for living space. Based on actual case studies of mud-brick house renovation projects, this study adopts a case study method to examine aspects such as the safety, functional adaptability, regional cultural characteristics, sustainability, and technological aspects of mud-brick house renovation. It summarizes strategies and experiences in the process of mud-brick house renovation, shares insights and perspectives on the renovation of mud-brick buildings, and provides references for other architects' design practices.
