Application and Development Trends of Mechanization Technology in Middle-aged and Young Forest Tending
Abstract:To enhance the productivity of forest land and the quality of forests, and to address the issues of labor shortage and low efficiency in tending middle-aged and young forests, this study focuses on the Liuzhou area of Guangxi. It uses case analysis and data comparison methods to analyze the application of mechanization technology in tending middle-aged and young forests from three aspects: mechanical site preparation, shrub cutting, and pest and disease control. The results show that mechanical site preparation promotes better root growth of seedlings, mechanical shrub cutting improves the diameter at ground level and height of trees, and helicopter aerial spraying effectively controls pests and diseases while improving tree growth. The study shows that mechanized tending can solve the problems of labor shortages and low efficiency, providing strong support for the development of the forestry economy. In the future, this technology will develop towards intelligence, multi-functionality, portability, energy conservation, environmental protection, and precision personalization.
