Research on Grading of Bai Guan Sponge Gourd Based on Machine Learning
Abstract：Bai Guan sponge gourd is the only vegetable product in the Zhuzhou area to obtain national standard 'double certification'. Its quality grading is of crucial significance for market sales and industrial development. This study explores how to use machine vision to process images of Bai Guan sponge gourds for further grade classification. By collecting and processing appearance images to obtain shape features, a grading model is constructed using machine learning algorithms. A method is proposed to determine the shape of batches of Bai Guan sponge gourds based on the combination of rectangularity and circularity. The model parameters are continuously optimized through training and testing of the obtained Bai Guan sponge gourd samples to improve its grading performance and eliminate those that meet different standards. Experimental results show that the grading method based on machine learning can effectively distinguish between different grades of Bai Guan sponge gourds, with an accuracy rate of over 93%, which is higher in accuracy and stability compared to manual grading methods.
