Research on the Meteorological Risk Insurance Index for the Ripening Period of Peach-shaped Plums
Abstract：Exploring the innovative model of 'insurance + meteorology + technology' in the specialty fruit industry of peach-shaped plums in Jinting Town, Shengzhou City, aiming to promote common prosperity through meteorological services. In response to the problem that peach-shaped plums are easily affected by local strong weather such as continuous rainy days, short-term heavy rainfall, and strong winds during the ripening period, this study uses automatic weather station data from 2010 to 2020 from Beizhang (K4602) and Ling'e (K4618) in Shengzhou City, as well as related data on peach-shaped plums. It applies meteorological disaster indices and insurance product pricing methods to design an effective meteorological risk insurance product, thereby ensuring the stable development of the peach-shaped plum industry. The research successfully combines meteorological services with insurance products, providing an innovative risk protection model for the peach-shaped plum industry in Jinting Town, Shengzhou City, thus reducing the impact of meteorological disasters on the industry and promoting its stable development and the early realization of the goal of common prosperity.
