Water Resources Carrying Capacity Evaluation of Taolai River Basin Based on Entropy-TOPSIS
Abstract:A comprehensive exploration of water resources carrying capacity and its influencing factors has practical significance for the improvement and perfection of basin water resource management. Based on the water use data of the main areas of the Taolai River Basin from 2018 to 2022, this study analyzed the evolution trend of the basin's water use structure using methods such as information entropy, Lorenz curve, location entropy, and Gini coefficient. It also evaluated 11 indicators in three criteria layers—water resource system, socio-economic factors, and ecosystem—using the TOPSIS method. The results show that the total water consumption in the basin has generally been declining, and the spatial distribution of water use has shown a positive development trend. The overall water use structure in the basin is relatively balanced, with an increasing trend in balance degree year by year. However, there are significant differences in balance degree among different regions, and slight differences in balance degree within the same region across different years. In some years, the comprehensive evaluation index of water resources carrying capacity was high, indicating that water use was in an uncoordinated state. The research results can provide a theoretical basis for the optimization of water resource allocation and high-quality development in the Taolai River Basin.
