Effect of Fermented Garlic Straw on the Growth Performance of Broilers
Abstract:To investigate the effect of different proportions of fermented garlic straw on the growth performance of broilers and determine its application feasibility in broiler production. This study selected 1,200 healthy one-day-old broilers, randomly divided into a control group, experimental group 1, experimental group 2, and experimental group 3, with 3 replicates per group. The diets for each group were formulated by adding 0%, 1.0%, 1.5%, and 2.0% of fermented garlic straw to the basal diet, respectively. The experimental period lasted 42 days. The results showed that compared with the control group, adding 1.5% fermented garlic straw significantly improved the final weight, weight gain, and average daily weight gain (P < 0.05), and reduced the feed-to-weight ratio (P < 0.05). The study indicates that adding appropriate amounts of fermented garlic straw to broiler diets can improve their growth performance.
