Effects of Adding Amino Acids to Low-Protein Diets on the Growth Performance and Meat Quality of Growing-Finishing Pigs
Abstract:Low-protein diets are formulated based on the theory of protein and amino acid nutrition balance, aiming to meet the nutritional needs of animals precisely by adding appropriate types and amounts of synthetic amino acids, while reducing the use of protein ingredients, lowering the crude protein level of the diet, and decreasing nitrogen emissions. Amino acids, as the basic units of proteins, play multiple roles in pig nutrition and are essential for their growth and development. This paper summarizes the mechanisms and application effects of adding amino acids to low-protein diets on the growth performance and meat quality of growing-finishing pigs. It was found that adding amino acids to low-protein diets can not only promote the growth of growing-finishing pigs but also provide better nutrition and improve meat quality.
