Analysis of the Therapeutic Effect of Astragalus Polysaccharide on Avian Infectious Rhinitis
Abstract:To investigate the therapeutic effect of astragalus polysaccharide on avian infectious rhinitis, this experiment selected 100 diseased chickens with avian infectious rhinitis, randomly divided into two groups, with 10 replicates per group, each replicate consisting of 5 chickens. The control group was treated by adding 10 g/kg compound sulfamethoxazole to the feed, while the experimental group was treated by adding 800 mg/kg astragalus polysaccharide to the feed for one week. The results showed that the cure rate of the experimental group was 24.3% higher than that of the control group, while the non-response rate and mortality rate were 62.5% and 80.0% lower, respectively. Compared with the control group, after treatment, the serum globulin and total protein levels of the experimental group significantly increased (P < 0.05), while the contents of tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α), interleukin-2 (IL-2), and IL-6 in the serum significantly decreased (P < 0.05). However, there was no significant difference in serum albumin, total cholesterol, and triglyceride levels (P > 0.05). The results of this experiment indicate that using astragalus polysaccharide to treat avian infectious rhinitis has a good effect, providing a reference basis for better prevention and control of avian infectious rhinitis in this region.
