Qualitative Analysis and Outlook on the Long-Term Development Trends of the Pig Industry
Abstract:Pig prices are influenced by a variety of factors, with both short-term fluctuations and long-term trends coexisting. The interplay between these factors leads to mutual interference, making quantitative forecasting challenging. Based on the price fluctuation patterns of pigs from 2021 to 2024, this paper combines key variables on both the supply and demand sides to propose a qualitative framework for the medium- to long-term (2025-2035) pig industry. This paper argues that under the drive of factors such as population base support, continued consumer habits, and enhanced policy regulation, the profitability of the pig industry will show a trend of 'stability with gradual improvement.' However, it is necessary to be vigilant about the risk of market imbalance caused by excessive industry concentration. The purpose of this paper is to provide theoretical references for industry practitioners in formulating strategic plans and subsequent quantitative research, thereby promoting the high-quality modernization transformation of the industry.
