Epidemiological Investigation of Major Viral Diseases in Pigs in Some Areas of Guizhou During Winter
Abstract:To understand the prevalence of pig diseases in some areas of Guizhou during winter, this study collected 805 samples from different sites such as pig farms (farmers), slaughterhouses, wholesale markets, and harmless treatment centers between December 2023 and January 2024. Using fluorescent PCR and fluorescent RT-PCR methods, the pathogens of 10 types of pig diseases, including African swine fever, porcine epidemic diarrhea, and porcine transmissible gastroenteritis, were detected. The results showed that the positive rates of porcine rotavirus disease, porcine circovirus disease (type 2), porcine parvovirus disease, and porcine transmissible gastroenteritis were 23.62%, 21.45%, 7.64%, and 2.36%, respectively, and there was a phenomenon of mixed infection with two viruses.
