Effect of Fermented Soybean Meal on the Apparent Digestibility of Nutrients in Finishing Pigs
Abstract:To investigate the effect of adding different levels of fermented soybean meal to the diet on the apparent digestibility of nutrients in finishing pigs, this experiment selected 40 crossbred finishing pigs (Duroc × Landrace × Yorkshire) with an average weight of about 50 kg. The pigs were randomly divided into 4 groups, with 5 replicates per group and 2 pigs per replicate. The control group was fed a basal diet, while the experimental groups 1, 2, and 3 were fed experimental diets formulated by adding 5%, 10%, and 15% fermented soybean meal to the basal diet, respectively. The pre-test period lasted 1 week, and the main test period lasted 4 weeks. The results showed that the apparent digestibility of crude protein and crude fiber in the experimental group 2 was significantly increased by 7.97% and 16.29%, respectively, compared to the control group (P < 0.05). The study found that adding 10% fermented soybean meal to the diet of finishing pigs can significantly improve the digestibility of feed nutrients.
