Effect of Fermented Soybean Meal on the Growth Performance of Finishing Pigs
Abstract:To investigate the effect of different levels of fermented soybean meal on the growth performance of finishing pigs, and to provide a reference for the efficient utilization of fermented soybean meal in the feeding of finishing pigs, this experiment selected 96 finishing pigs with an average weight of about 60 kg, half males and half females, randomly divided into 4 groups, with 3 replicates per group and 8 pigs per replicate. The control group was fed a basal diet, while the experimental groups were fed diets supplemented with 3%, 6%, and 9% (mass fraction) of fermented soybean meal, respectively. The preliminary period lasted 1 week, and the main trial lasted 8 weeks. The results showed that compared with the control group, the final weight of the finishing pigs in the 6% fermented soybean meal group increased by 5.89% (P < 0.05), total weight gain increased by 14.33% (P < 0.05), average daily gain increased by 15.19% (P < 0.05), while the feed-to-gain ratio decreased by 11.99% (P < 0.05). The study shows that feeding finishing pigs with appropriate amounts of fermented soybean meal can improve their growth performance, and the best effect was achieved when the addition of fermented soybean meal was 6%.
