Thinking on Promoting the Development of Meteorological Science Popularization Volunteers through the Meteorological Young Host Competition
Abstract：To explore the mechanism for cultivating young science popularization volunteers, based on the situation of the Guangdong Meteorological Young Host Competition over the past three years, this paper proposes suggestions on promoting the development of meteorological science popularization volunteers through the meteorological young host competition. The results show that the competition entries are mostly based on real-life situations, with participants choosing meteorological science popularization topics they are familiar with or wish to learn about as their competition themes, making meteorological science popularization creation originate from the people. As a platform, the meteorological young host competition promotes the dissemination and application of meteorological scientific knowledge, ensuring that meteorological science popularization creation serves the people. It is proposed to establish mechanisms such as targeted selection, scientific management, multi-dimensional training, and multi-index assessment; and to build practical platforms through multiple channels, including media, schools, venues, and stages, aiming to cultivate outstanding contestants into high-quality meteorological science popularization speakers.
