Analysis of Future Bandwidth Requirements for the Guangzhou Meteorological Satellite Ground Station Business Network
Abstract:To address the challenges of data transmission capacity and timeliness caused by the networking of Fengyun-3 Block 04/Fengyun-4 Block 03 satellites and the re-computation center project, this study analyzes the single satellite data code rate, encoding format, error correction method, and orbital characteristics (such as overpass duration and probability of transmission window overlap) to quantify the peak bandwidth demand for concurrent multi-satellite transmission. A bandwidth demand calculation method based on multi-satellite collaborative overpass scenarios is established. The results show that a single satellite overpass requires 200-250 Mbps, and it is recommended to prioritize upgrading the main link to 1.2 Gbps. By adopting protocol adaptive switching (TCP/UDP hybrid), SD-WAN dynamic bandwidth allocation, and tiered expansion strategies (main link upgraded to 1.2 Gbps + 5G slice backup), bandwidth utilization can be improved by more than 40%, ensuring that the transmission timeliness compliance rate reaches ≥99.9% for the next five years.
