Accuracy Analysis of Lightning Risk Warnings Based on Atmospheric Electric Field Instrument Data
Abstract:To evaluate and verify the accuracy of the built-in warning algorithm of Pre-storm 2.0 atmospheric electric field instrument, the observation data of atmospheric electric field from May to August 2020, as well as cloud-to-ground lightning location data were used for analysis of warning hit rate (POD), missed alarm rate (MAR), and false alarm rate (FAR). The results show that the hit rate is above 90%, with an average missed alarm rate below 6%. The third-level warning has the best early warning effect within 15 km, with a warning hit rate of 91.3%. The data from this instrument can be applied to lightning monitoring and early warning, as well as lightning day data statistics.
