Abstract:This study investigated the effect of seeding number per hole on rice yield components in a mulched drip-irrigation system in which japonica cultivar T-43 was mechanically planted. The results showed that three indicators( tillering dynamics, the effective num-ber of rice plants in a single hole, and yield components) all declined with increasing sowing grains in a single hole under the same planting density, 1. 93 hole/667 m2 . This indicated that the seeding number in a single hole had a great impact on rice production with mulched drip irrigation under the condition of same planting density, and the optimal seeding number was 5~7 per hole.
