Breeding and Research of New Wheat Varieties Mianmai1403 and Mianmai185
Abstract：Mianmail403 and Mianmai185 are new wheat varieties with high yield and resistance. The yield in- creased more than 10% compared with CK in Sichuan regional test. The two wheat varieties were bred from cross- ing of different wheat materials collected from different region and had different genetic background. The common characteristics of both wheat varieties is dwarfing, regular spike layer, strong resistance to lodging, high resistance to stripe rust and powdery mildew. The average yield of Mianmail403 and Mianmai185 were 379. 1 kg/667 m2 and 369.4 kg/667 m2 in Sichuan regional test in 2006 - 2007, and up 13.3% and 10. 9% more than Chuan- mail07, respectively.
