A Review and Prospect for Barley Production in Anhui Province
Abstract：Barley has been planted in Anhui province for a long time.The production and tendency of Anhui barley from 1988 to 2010 were analyzed in this study.The results indicated： sown area of Anhui barley amounted to the maximum of 156 666.67 hm^2 in 1988 and had been reduced during 22 years to about 50 000 hm^2;The highest yield was 302.84 kg/667m^2 and the lowest was 87.81 kg/667m^2;Barley varieties in Anhui province mainly distributed along and in the north of Huai river and between Huai river and Yangtze river;Changes of barley production was closely related with attack of staple food crop,adjustment of planting structure,decay of nature of variety and enthusiasm of peasant.As disused above,our study further elucidated cultivation techniques and pointed out the opportunities and prospect for Anhui barley production in the near future.
